Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
Anyone have a headphone fail? My left side has stopped working entirely. Seriously... only used them for maybe an hour or two total. And kept in their case. Pretty dissatisfied after the original quality issues. Contacted Brainwavz a few days ago, not heard back yet. But sure they'll sort it out.- keyzer1980

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
Yep! That's what I ended up using - first I trimmed it back to as flush as I could get it with a super sharp pocket knife, then used my wife's emery board to 'polish' to a smooth finish. Because they are the 'frosted' colour option, you have to be paying attention to see the resultant...- keyzer1980

Thanks, but it's definitely more 'structural' than a little bit of easily removed plastic residue from the manufacturing process... I'll need to file it back to smooth it out and make it flush like the rest of the unit (on both sides). Not looking to send them back, that's just time and money...- keyzer1980

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
Thanks for the reply! Maybe this picture shows it clearer... it's not a huge imperfection, but because of how sharp it is, and how sensitive the inside of the ear is, and the fact that it is in constant contact with the inner ear, makes these unwearable at present.- keyzer1980

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
Hi all, Got my B400's delivered today - amazing sound... BUT - I was wondering if anyone can recommend how best to file back these small plastic overruns right at the end, they're are super sharp... any old fine grit sandpaper? I can't really wear these properly at the moment as it feels...- keyzer1980

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
Wait, so you can bypass charging if you modify a cable? The Q1MKII works with the S8, I've tested it, but it drains the battery; does anyone know if you can get a cable already modified? FiiO this seems like something you could do and package as an S8 DAC/AMP and capture an even larger market?- keyzer1980

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
Ok that makes sense... that is the issue with the Android phones - the bloatware. (Except for the new Nokia -- stock Android). Two questions: 1) Anyone got the FiiO Q1MKII working with a Samsung Galaxy S8+ ? 2) Is there any way to stop the phone charging the DAC/AMP?- keyzer1980

So... basically, no one makes a DAC/AMP combo that works with flawlessly with Android, without massive workarounds, and inevitably battery drain? I’ll come back in another 10 years and see if we’ve advanced technologically.- keyzer1980

Poll: What's the greatest sounding IEM you've heard
The ER4P/S sound great if your fave genre of music is microphone static - I think one of the genres bands, "One Slight Head Movement", has a new album out this month titled: Sit Still While You Listen. Lucky for all those ER4 fans... huh?! Seriously though, no one seems to have ranked the...- keyzer1980

ER4P's (no) E4G's (Maybe) UE10's/RS1's (help?)
Thanks Wolfen, I was wondering one thing, did you mean the E500's have the slight improvements over the UE5's - or the other way around? Price wise they are close - at least here in Australia - $500 to $600 for either, but as you said, I can get my $ back on the E500's. Do the E500's work...- keyzer1980

Hello all...!! I can't believe that I FINALLY decided to join Head-Fi. I have been lurking since late 2003 (never posted though) - where you all convinced me to get a pair of Grado Labs "Alessandro Music Series" cans. I have enjoyed them very much, but they get less ear time now since...- keyzer1980
