the modded wm1a seems perfect for that. it's easily one of the most compact daps out there :) plus you can find a pretty cheap wm1a once in a while on the used market, iirc there's a modded one going around for 1.2k gbp right now

ikr haha, asked him few days ago, when I got a positive answer I sent my r2r2k the next day. I've a feeling the jump from r2r2k to hm1k won't be worth losing the standalone dap, I'm also doubting hard that the sq jump is as big as people hype it out to be.. but if npaudio can do it's miracles...

yes, the r2r2k isn't in production either i think.

mainly because i don't want a device that's relying on a phone to play and seems to have bad QC when it comes to it's bluetooth etc. I'd much rather have a tiny dap i can carry around anywhere

yeah, these r2r chips in particular are a cut above the rest. is the hm1k headphone out a big ste up from the r2r2000 black too? i'm getting my r2r2k black modded, but still wondering about the hm1k, that one may come in the future :)

DGEHPA A02 is a portable amp made by DgE. (Digi-gen Engineering) which..turned out to be a boutique japanese shop. it was made specifically for the A02 module to use with the pre amp option, however it works well with the r01 aswell, when double amping.
