DC Area Head-Fi Meet Planning (ongoing)

Doing my best. Those are a solid "maybe" at this point. Will know more in a couple weeks...

microZOTL 3 by Linear Tube Audio. True High End Audio.

Hi. I realize this is a huge disappointment, and I am personally sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to be able to resolve the issue without the unit leaving the EU and back to you in perfect working order ASAP. You of course have my email address if you need anything in the meantime. Thanks...

microZOTL 3 by Linear Tube Audio. True High End Audio.

The difference is that the MZ3 has a digital display and control system, which the MZ2 does not, and that requires different power. Otherwise, the audio section's power requirements are the same between the two.

microZOTL 3 by Linear Tube Audio. True High End Audio.

Not as close as you would get if you used the LTA LPS+, which is also used with the MZ3 (slightly modified for the different power requirements of the MZ3). :) I regularly have people come into LTA to audition the MZ2 and the MZ3 for the first time, to answer this same question for themselves...

Have you heard the new Linear Tube Audio Z10e amplifier?

Herb Reichert did. :) Nicholas from LTA

Have you heard the new Linear Tube Audio Z10e amplifier?

Do you have any specific questions? I've never heard the T2, so I can't tell you how it compares sonically. The Z10e gives you everything you likely already love from your current Berning/ZOTL setup, but with electrostatics.

Have you heard the new Linear Tube Audio Z10e amplifier?

Running the tubes at those voltages (and 1/3 the current) is part of the unique nature of the ZOTL circuit. I'll have to consult more technical minds than me if you want deeper info, but the electrostatic output is the standard STAX 580v interface. https://staxaudio.com/technology

Have you heard the new Linear Tube Audio Z10e amplifier?

@complin My response to @headinclouds and @Jon L about transformers was specific to the question about whether we use step-up transformers to achieve the necessary voltages for the electrostatic output, not about the overall use of output transformers. Excuse my use of the word "transformers"...

Have you heard the new Linear Tube Audio Z10e amplifier?

@headinclouds is correct, there are no transformers. The electrostatic signal comes straight off the tube, and due to ZOTL's unique topology, the tubes run natively at 750V, for a 1500V peak to peak (each channel has two tubes, one is for the bottom half of the signal and one for the top half...

Have you heard the new Linear Tube Audio Z10e amplifier?

Hey everybody. Nicholas from LTA here. Thought I'd clear up any confusion about the output on the Z10e. Herb's review unit was sent to him before we changed the headphone output to match the speaker output. There is a manufacturer's comment in the back of the issue to that effect, but of...
