Campfire Dorado 2020
unfortunately they didn't have any DAPs for testing, I didn't want the trip to be for nothing so I tried the Nannas 2.0, they were pretty good. I may revisit the store for another test. Anyone know a store in NYC that lets you try out DAPs?- johnnyarks

Campfire Dorado 2020
I'm headed to audio46 next week to see if they have any DAPs I can demo... It would have to be a pretty dramatic difference to spend another $700+ on DAP over my existing setup.- johnnyarks

are you guys using the included cable? I very quickly got the Linsoul Tripowin Zonie 16 cable, wondering if going balanced makes any difference for IEMs.- johnnyarks

I wonder how much better something like these AK SR25ii or M11 Plus would sound vs a dongle dac on my phone.- johnnyarks

Campfire Dorado 2020
They came early! my very early impressions...about 2 hrs of listening... I really like them so far. The only thing I can really compare them to that I've heard recently is my SE535 - At first I was like they sound like how my SE535 sounds after I EQ them to hell but the Dorados sound like that...- johnnyarks

So after seeing these on drop for $699 I came here for impressions. I haven't posted here in years but my se535 started going bad in one ear so instead of replacing I decided to upgrade. I've gone through all 82 pages of ppl falling in love with these (mostly) so I pulled the trigger, they...- johnnyarks

best IEMs for <$300 (better than SE535)?
As I wrote in the OP, I can get the SE535 for $270 shipped w/ tax, reshelling would probably mean Shure would not replace them if you sent them in different shells for repair or replacement. Long term that's probably not the best idea for me.- johnnyarks

best IEMs for <$300 (better than SE535)?
I went with the Oriveti New Primacy (since it was like the only recommendation at $300), my out the box impression was "these are OK" wasn't floored... definitely makes a better first impression than the ie80s. I will try these for a few days but my gut tells me I will send these back... we'll see.- johnnyarks

best IEMs for <$300 (better than SE535)?
Thanks for your recommends guys, I've got a lot of research to do  I just wanted to update, I was A/B in the IE80's and my cheap-o $9 Panasonic HJE120... to my extreme disappointment the Panasonics sounds about as good as the IE80s... its like 92% of IE80s... but its 10 bucks...- johnnyarks

best IEMs for <$300 (better than SE535)?
I used to have SE535s, and I loved them, they broke after 5yrs. I can get the Shure SE535 for $270... can you recommend something better than 535s for under <$300? I listen to top 40, some queen, Metronomy, MIA, Santogold, this is for commuting on a subway to & from work. My primary DAP will...- johnnyarks

SGS or ipod+dac/amp to replace Cowon j3?
while I think the sgs sound is good, it's not better than a j3... and I don't think syncing music with Android devices is a seamless experience. I have a 16GB vibrant & 32GB sd card. If I have 40gigs of music, I've yet to find a desktop client that will view this as 1 logical device, instead...- johnnyarks

SGS or ipod+dac/amp to replace Cowon j3?
Hello all... So.. I just received my new se535 replacements, and started using my j3 again for the first time in a month and realized how crappy a UI/Syncing is (playlist/podcast issues)...I've had my j3 for 1yr+...and while it sounds fantastic paired w/ my shures...I long for the...- johnnyarks
