Im considering the Crack (and potentially Speedball) for my HD650. I mainly listen to some old school hiphops. Is the crack good for bass reproduction and extension?

@lugnut @riffrafff do you have a recomendation? I just like the HD650 sound sig even though it is not the best deep bass performer... but I would love to hear some recomendations for new cans :) edit: I find HD650's bass plenty, my only complaint is its extension

Hello guys! Would anyone advise me for getting a Speedballed Crack for hiphop listening? Is there any deep bass roll off with the stock tubes? Should I go SS for this particular genre? I'm really considering getting one for my HD650 :beyersmile: Thanks in advance.

Guys, need serious advice regarding HD650 amping. I'm trying to decide between an OTL Tube (SB'd Crack) or some SS. I mainly listen to hiphop and head that tube rolls off in the deep bass area, which is very important for my genre preference. Does anyone know if these statements are true...

Sadly, a FiiO e10K amp+dac. It's recommended for impedances up to 150 Ohms, but the HD650 is  a 300 Ohm headphone, so...   I bought a Bottlehead Crack + Speedball last week, but the estimate shipping for this amp is up to 6 weeks.

IMHO the HD650 is an upgrade to the X2. I tried both before deciding on each to keep, and the HD650 was better by a large margin. The X2 has a better sub-bass, in fact, I never thought that an open-back headphone could get that much of bass and sub-bass, but the mids and treble makes the HD650...
