The Magni arrived.   My lord .. I'm basically blasting the volume and it's still super crisp. My ears are in heaven!   I'm more curious if I should avoid pushing the volume on the Magni and up my windows/windows media player volume.

I'd go Sennheiser for this. IMO the best setup would be modmic + headphones, but the Sennheiser G4ME series is pretty solid.   The G4ME One is the open-back version. Sound bleeds a lot but the soundstage is a bit better. IMO you should get the G4ME Zero (closed-back) if you ever plan on going...
