I've ordered two pairs of silver (6N or "sterling") USB-C cables from AliExpress, just for the Bathys in DAC mode. I have one already, and the flexibility is amazing - and totally non-microphonic. More reactions to come after I get the second.

You need OTG cables. Maybe your short ones are OTG and the long ones are not?

Toneboosters just released an update to their Morphit plugin with a correction curve for the Bathys.

I didn't notice any resulting hollow sound from that dip with the new pads. But the Focal pads have a similar dip in relation to the neighboring frequencies, and I didn't hear any hollow sound before.

Bloom Audio has the pads in stock. I changed my order to them (from BHphoto). And they have a frequency response graph on the page.

My bet is that the Bathys will not be replaced for a few more years. Focal's replacement timeframe for the Clear and Utopia was longer than it would be for replacing the relatively new Bathys at this point. And I suspect that any replacement will include WiFi access and not bandwidth-limited...
