Best Soundstage for Dolby Headphone under $100? Closed and Open?
Thank you for the tip about Mad Lusty's page. I've read that before and didn't know if there had been any other opinions. Thanks also for the suggestion about those four headphones. You say that the lack of bass really discouraged you from using them for film, I listen to classical music as...- jman1503

Best Soundstage for Dolby Headphone under $100? Closed and Open?
I am in a little bit of a bind. I need headphones to watch film with Dolby Headphone (or something similar). I have read that generally speaking, the bigger the soundstage of the headphone the more effective it will be in expressing the virtual headphone effect (as in DH). My budget is $100 and...- jman1503

best recommendation for improving my laptop sound system (better sound)
This is probably not what you're looking for in terms of quality, but I've heard pretty good things about the Asus Xonar U1- jman1503

Why do we use lossless?
I may be wrong, but don't we use lossless because it sounds exactly like the original? Perhaps regarding the frequencies, there are sounds that we percieve but do not hear which adds to the listening experience. This is a high frequency eqivalent to tactile sound perhaps?- jman1503

If I mostly listen to mp3's, does it make sense to spend more than $100 on headphones?
I agree that there is little to literally no perceptual difference between 320 mp3 and uncompressed.- jman1503

Flat sound vs. "fun sound"...so flat isn't fun?
Yeah, this is really a subjective question which will get a subjective answer. Some like a more equalized sound while others like more flat. The optimal "in ear response" is a hot topic. I prefer a mostly flat for most fun. It depends on what I am listening to.- jman1503
