Yes, same result. It won't play anything. Same result using Firmware v3.3 as well. I've had to go back to v3.6. At least it can play again.

I tried rolling back to firmware v.3.4, and now I can't play music at all. Every time I try, it says "No music found!" This is a nightmare!

What you're calling an intentional design decision I call incompetent design. The sqeaking doesn't bug me, it drives me absolutely insane - and it is the sole reason I have not purchased Utopias.
