I enjoy DIY and have designed modifications for the SRM-T1 amp as well as a mod of the classic Stax SRX tube circuit, called the SRX Plus. I am a cheapskate of sorts - I rarely buy new, and my modifications are aimed at bang-for-the buck, improving/optimizing the performance of basically good circuits like the T1 and SRX, which are hobbled by using resistor load output stages. My goal with these mods is Stereophile low class A to class B performance at Class C to D cost.
