Grado SR225 too bright? What is a better complement?

I'm not looking for another Grado sounding headphone- rather I'm looking for something with a different sound signature.

Grado SR225 too bright? What is a better complement?

The Grado SR225e (modded with the yellow senn pads) was my first "audiophile" purchase (I also own sennheiser momentum over ear).  I really enjoy the openness of the sound and its wide sound stage.  However, it hurts to listen for extended periods of time due to how bright the sound signature is...

    Grado SR225e mod for COMFORT?

Hey, quick question.  I just bought the Grado SR225e, loving them, but just as I feared when I read about it online, they just aren't comfortable.  I'm looking to use them for 2-4 hours on end, and they aren't comfortable after 20-30 minutes.     I've read that people often mod their grados or...

Sennheiser Momentum vs. Beoplay H6, price considered

I recently lost my sennheiser momentum over ear that I purchased originally for around 300$.  I was looking to buy a new pair of headphones, and found interest in the Beoplay h6.  Unfortunately I can't find any steal deals on it and will probably be able to purchase it for about 340$ (ebay).  I...

Where to try headphones in PHILADELPHIA? Beoplay H6

I am looking to buy the B&O Beoplay H6, but I want to try it first since I heard that its range is super balanced which to some people is a very different experience.  I live in Philadelphia.  Where could I try them before buying them?  I just called the apple store and they said that they...

    Closed Cans, looking...

Just out of curiosity, how do you think the momentums compare to a lot of the other headphones in terms of sound quality?

Expensive IEMs- not to be used in the gym? (Klipsch X11/X10)

The X10 and X11 are 100 and 130$ respectively (no mic)... would you say that's still a bad price?  Do the X11 still have the cable issues?

Expensive IEMs- not to be used in the gym? (Klipsch X11/X10)

Aw damn.. well here's a question.  The way I use headphones at the gym is that I let the wire go under my shirt and through the neck hole so it doesn't hang in front of me.  Would the microphonics still be bad?  Really thinking about pulling the trigger on the X7is.

Expensive IEMs- not to be used in the gym? (Klipsch X11/X10)

Quick question   Right now I am considering making my first IEM purchase above 150$.  I would use these often, but one place I will want to use them is at the gym.  Is it not recommended to be using these IEMs at the gym where I will sweat, do heavy lifting, etc ?  The ones I am considering...

Looking to buy my first pair of "open" can headphones

Any recommendations for a pair of open headphones?  Not looking to spend more than 200$.  This will be my first open can pair, and I'd like to think of it as my first step into some more real stuff.  For the past year I've used Sennheiser Momentum over ear, which has been great but unfortunately...

Looking for headphones where I can still hear ambient noise

So maybe my idea of an open headphone is actually not fitting for work?  There will definitely be some people next to me, like 5-8ft.  Bull-pen cubicle set up.     Also, what is the advice for navigating through the many different Grado lines (prestige, reference, professional, statement), and...

Looking for headphones where I can still hear ambient noise

Are the sennheiser momentums closed or open?  Just curious so I have a reference point.   I listen to nearly all genres of music (classical, rap, indie, rock, broadway, electronic), so I believe I really am looking for a crisp balanced range.  I'm not speaking from experience though.    ...

Looking for headphones where I can still hear ambient noise

Recently lost my Sennheiser momentums, which has me bummed.     Trying to look for headphones that do not block out sound.  I'll be using them in a work place environment where I'll want to know if someone sitting next to me wants to tell me something, or get my attention while I am listening...
