Oh, i meant recessed as compared to the GT100s. It's where you have poor isolation (in this case poor fit) so that everything sounds recessed & when you turn it up everything sounds boomy because you got a bad seal.

I've used my headphone amps on them but it still sounds recessed. I just noticed my GT100s has much better insertion than the GT600s (former goes deeper into my canal, latter more like sits on top of my canal) Anyone try double/triple flange eartips on these? Prolly will pick up a double flange...

Just got my gt600S. Initial impressions with the silver filter is that everything seems a bit more recessed. Probably needs to get those drivers moving more. One thing I've been trying are the filters from the GT100S set since they're longer and might be different.

Whew, so the Macaw GT600s model is out. 1dynamic + 1BA I own the GT100S "giant killer" model that's an inverted dynamic. Anyone try out the new GT600S yet & can compare the sound against the GT100S? - wondering if this is a giant killer part 2.

I'm quite the budget man myself. Anyone try the Macaw GT100s and the Kinera H3? I love the Macaw for their clarity, soundstage, especially instrument separation. Anyone know how the Kinera H3 compares to them on those fronts? Thx.

+1. The DTT770s got that bass. Amped, the bass is so much more sharper and punchy. They are 65ohms I think, so your 135 max should be fine should be able to run them.

the construction for the ATH-M line is pretty good, pretty rugged. I use my ath-m35s as my road headphones.
