Running Grado SR225i's from a Turntable
Sorry! I forgot to mention that I have RCA inputs that work fine without a phonotable from this specific turntable. I currently have them hooked into a decent set of shelf speakers. I'll take a look into the E7+E9 combo, I looked through the forum a little more and found some good things about...- Imperative

Running Grado SR225i's from a Turntable
Hi, I'm looking to run a pair of Grado SR225i's from a turntable, and due to the fact that turntables put out a tremendously small amount of volume, I'm looking for an amplifier to put in the middle. I'd like to spend $100 or under, and I wanted to refer to head-fi to try to help me make a...- Imperative

First headphones
If I were you, I'd take a serious look at the Grado Prestige SR-225s, and if you can spare an extra $40, the 325s. Grados tend to have a very crisp, clear (and flat) sound. Definitely try to see if there's an audiophile shop near you to try them out! Another option would be the Ultrasone PROLine...- Imperative

How are the Beats by Dre Studio Headphones at 60% off?
For what they are, if you REALLY like the sound, go for it! Don't let anyone tell you that you shouldn't like what you do. They are, however mostly for rap, or maybe dubstep. Keep in mind the bad plastic they're made with, but I feel that at $120, you've taken off the "Dr. Dre" part of what...- Imperative

Beginning setup?
Hey, I have an idea of what I'm going to use for a very first (real) setup. I've used the crappy skullcandy headphones TOO LONG! So my idea is to run a pair of ATH-M50s through a FiiO E5 amplifier to an iPod Touch. Any recommendations on this setup? Anything you would change for the value? I'll...- Imperative

Need advice with headphones sub $300
Hi, I've been looking around at various reviews and recommendations to others and I think I've narrowed down my search, but I'd still like some final advice due to the few reviews and things that contradict others. What I'm looking for: Full size headphones, preferably over the ear, but...- Imperative

m50 vs sennheiser 555
I'm glad you brought this up, I've got similar interests and been looking at the M50's too! The M50s apparently don't give a "punchy" bass response, I'm unsure about the 555's though. The other recommendations I've seen in this category were: Koss Porta Pros Koss Sporta Pros Denon D2000s...- Imperative

Headphone with good mids and fat bass?
Are they going to be a pain in the you-know-where to lug around with me though? I'm in school and would greatly appreciate something that'll even stay in my bag. Also - Sturdiness?, Burn-in?- Imperative

Headphone with good mids and fat bass?
I'll get back to you on the PortaPros because I think I have a friend who uses those - What better way to test them? . Other than the aesthetic they seem to be pretty great - I'm a '90s kind of guy :P Also - Are they sturdy? I have to stress that apparently I break headphones like no other...- Imperative

Headphone with good mids and fat bass?
I looked through this thread before, and I care a lot less about the full spectrum than he does, also my price range is lower (sub-$200) - probably should have mentioned that - also, I'm not using an amp.- Imperative

Headphone with good mids and fat bass?
Hey, I've been searching around for some new headphones. I've had about 5 pairs of cheap-y Skullcandy earbuds and phones and I'm fully fed up with the absolute crap quality on the cords. I've seriously broken every pair within a month from nothing other than normal use (In pocket w/ iPod...- Imperative
