Help! Drop outs in my computer audio

Quote: BINGO!! I did what you said and my latency drops to <200us.   After searching around for a bit, I installed the BETA Nvidia driver and my latency keeps at <200us without running Furmark. I believe this is case closed.   So many thanks to EVERYONE!

Help! Drop outs in my computer audio

I've disabled my ATA controller, changed my antivirus to Avast, and no uTorrent running - DPC Latency is still at ~1300us   I've run LatencyMon and it identifies the driver causing the problem is nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 258.96)   I will try to disable...

Help! Drop outs in my computer audio

Quote: I've tried with both onboard and my USB DAC (iBasso D2 Boa). I guess what happened are drop outs, like the music stutters for a split second. In the worst case, my music just stops.   Quote: I'm using MediaMonkey. Sorry for the misuse of the term "jitter", still a...

Help! Drop outs in my computer audio

Here's my situation:   I've built a new desktop PC (Core i3, Gigabyte H57 motherboard, all other parts are new), but I've noticed this problem: I put my computer to sleep when not in use, and after 5-6 days, my audio playback start to have jitters. If I turn my computer off (even briefly)...

Help needed - mono output to stereo headphone

I have this problem: I only have a mono output (a 1/4" TS unbalanced jack), and I would like to plug in a headphone and have it output to both left and right. What kind of cable/adapter can I use to achieve that? I've tried a TS to TRS adapter and it doesn't seem to work...   (and my...

    Pansonic HJE900 vs Head-Direct RE0

Does anyone have listen to both of these headphones? If so, how do they compare? I'm interested in the following category: 1) Build Quality 2) Sound Isolation 3) Overall Sound Quality 4) The "gift" factor (I'm buying it as a gift) The price is not that important to me :P Thanks in...

HD 555 vs HD 380 PRO

HD555 is open, so it's not that suitable for commute, especially if Edmonton's train is as noisy as the TTC in Toronto :P I only have the 380 pro, and I'm liking it so far.

    Newbie Amp Question

I know this might be a very silly question, but... When I turn on my amp, what is the "proper" order of doing the following: 1) Plug headphone in 2) Turn on power 3) Turn up volume Reason I'm asking is because if I try to plug in TF10Pro into my iBasso D2 Boa, then turn on the power...

    DAC and/or computer problem, help

Update: My DAC is originally connected directly from my computer's USB. I've tried to plug it into a USB hub instead, and the problem has seemed to disappeared. So does that mean there's something wrong with my computer? If that's the case, anyone got a clue why it's happening?

    DAC and/or computer problem, help

I've just bought a iBasso D2 Boa. But when I use the DAC (ie. connect through USB from my computer), I have this occasional problem. What happens is when I'm playing music, there are random clicking/clipping noise. They come at various "volume", time, channel (L/R). However, there is no lag/slow...

How does a portable amp+DAC work?

The sound card is exactly an amp+dac, except it is stuck to the computer. I'm not sure how good the quality the Creative card is, but chances are it's not as good as most of the amps discussed here, so there's the need for upgrade.

    Wireless router

Like everyone have said, WRT54GL is a good choice. Other possible choices are Linksys WRT310N (if you want the N protocol and/or Gigabit), WRT600N (310N + usb storage). Other DD-WRT compatible routers are good =)

    Noob question about amps here

Then get a DAC+amp combo Possibly one with line out (ex iBasso D3) so you can use it as DAC only when needed.
