    When tubes go bad

Well, after a couple more hours of critical listening, with a more discerning source, I can confirm the distortion effects both channels equally. Switching the input channels also yields the same results: Distorted, flabby bass at both low-medium and higher listening levels. Now it really does...

    When tubes go bad

Actually, I'm quite glad you made this thread McPanse as I have a question myself if a problem like the one I have is tube related. Alright, so my LDMKIII is great and such, had it for a while now and it has sounded wonderful, until just recently. I use a pair of HD-650s with them and bass has...

How do you guys choose what to buy?

A lot of reading. Research, research, research. Reading about various products and their competitors is your best friend. That's what inevitably brought me here and of course, the AVS forum. Also, price is a big factor, but finding a good deal can change plans pretty quickly. Before buying my...

Whats with omh/impedance on same models

Well, that only makes me wonder even more as to why.

Whats with omh/impedance on same models

You know, I've been wondering the answer to this as well and more broadly with any headphone, why the difference in ohms? Does it make a difference at all in sound quality? Is it because the materials used necessitate a certain impedance, or is it just randomly up to the manufacturer to decide...

Do all tube amps run hot?

I find the actual tubes on my Little Dot MK III get pretty hot, and the chassis gets pretty warm, but not enough to burn someone. In fact, I keep my headphones sitting on the little block on the back when I have it on so that they are nice and warm when I put them on, heh.

    Little Dot MKIII Tube Rolling

Aha, thanks Peete, I was just thinking about that as my first choice since It's relatively cheap, has a great selection of input/outputs and such. Glad to hear it matches well with the MKIII, so it might very well be my next choice. Can't wait.

    amp questions :)

Can't say how a decent sound card in a computer works, since mine is garbage, but I actually just upgraded from my crappy Yamaha reciever's headphone out to a nice Little Dot MkIII with HD 650s and believe me, it makes a world of difference. Sure my Yamaha got plenty loud and all, but it just...

    Little Dot MKIII Tube Rolling

Alright, I have a rather newbish question that I'm sure has an incredibly simple answer, though I can't seem to find that answer by digging through the endless pages of this forum through the search function. Alright, my question is... how exactly do you take out and put in tubes on a LD MKIII...

Best headphones for use with Dolby Headphone?

Alright, now I know exactly what you're talking about. I use my HD-650s with my PS3 for gaming, movie watching, music listening etc and I have to admit, they sound pretty good at whatever I throw at them. Now, granted, when playing something like, say, Warhawk, the positioning of effects...

POLL: If you could have only one - Denon AH-D5000, Sen HD650, or AKG K701

I don't have much experience with the different cans, but I do own the HD650s and even just using my horrid Yamaha amp, streaming music to my PS3 from my mid-grade, beat up computer to play these babies, every single genre of music sounds great. Bass is tight, highs are nice and detailed and...

What is so horrible about Skullcandy's anyway?

Alright, I feel I have to add to this, even if it is my first post on Head-Fi. (Yay and such) Now, I must admit, I own the Skullcandy Lowriders and I have to say, they aren't as purely loathsome as people make them seem. Compared to some other stock and low-price replacement MP3/CD player...
