Just got the Rognir and it's really amazing. Only other closed back I have is the LCD-2 and it's not even comparable in any aspect. Even compared to any of my open backs, including Aeolus, HE1000 Stealth, Elex, I almost always prefer the Rognir. Really my only complaint is the weak clamping...

Just received the Deckard and very pleasantly surprised. Not really surprising since it's now my most expensive amp, but comparing with the THX AAA 789 my Rognir sound noticeably more open (yes I know I level-jumped with headphones quality over amp/dac so now I'm starting to balance that out...

I'm also not so impressed with the LCD2 closed, to me it just lacks liveliness across the frequency spectrum. Wonder if it responds well enough to EQ that it could be addressed that way?

Is it still considered a good combo in 2024? I have one but now I use the Magni as a preamp and amp with a THX AAA 789, I think it sounds a bit better. Interested in an upgrade too though.

Why do amp makers not include balanced output on nice amps like this? Isn't balanced output the gold standard and generally sounding better than the 1/4"?

Sounds like it's perfect for you then, cheers to that! I actually found that I like the bright metallic tone of the Elex, but it might be because I got used to the Elex first and then tried the Mg. If you like the Mg, have you tried Aeolus? I feel like they're somewhat similar.
