K712 vs. HD800
The K712 sounded a bit dark due to the lowered hi-mids. Soundstage was way more centered compared to other phones (especially the 701/702). Lower mids aswell as a peak at about 9kHz were a bit too exaggerated on the K712. Overall very comfortable phones, like a cussion that you can sink in, but...- HiSenn5

Lake People G109 / G103 thread
Yep, the P version has relays built in. I'm not sure if you're right about the sound, heard different experiences. Mybe someone from Violectric/LakePeople can chime in to clear up the sonic differences between the G and V series.- HiSenn5

Lake People G109 / G103 thread
Ha ;D Heard the V200 has more depth and definition. There are certain things that bother me with the G109s, like the warmth, the soundstage and the fact that I have to plug and unplug my headphones all the time... I didn't do this with my K701s and one day when I turned it off, my right driver died.- HiSenn5

Most Neutral, Well Balanced and Flattest Headphones For Audio Mixing / Mastering?
hands down: The flattest frequency response: K702 The most natural frequency response: HD600 Avoid the K701, they sound different than the K702: more plastic and grainy, in one word unnatural. The Beyerdynamic DT880 is a bit V shaped and fatigueing IMO. I'm currently using the HD800...- HiSenn5

DT880 dissatisfaction?
Had the very same problems with the dt880. The mids were a bit recessed and the spike at 8kHz was VERY annoying - even on my headamp. My HD800 has more high frequencies but is absolutely not as fatigueing as the dt880. My advise: Get the HD600, you won't regret it. Mids are a dream and...- HiSenn5

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread
Whatever you do, keep the HD650. I've sold mine and went for the HD800. Big mistake. I also had the K712 for a week or so. Didn't like the mids and the built quality. The K702 or the K612 is a better choice.- HiSenn5

AKG K702 (The Classic) vs. K612 Pro (The Upstart) – Review and Comparison
The K612 pads are the same as the K702 pads, except they're not angled. I couldn't get used to the K712 pads. They felt very weird, similar to a closed headphone.- HiSenn5

AKG K702 (The Classic) vs. K612 Pro (The Upstart) – Review and Comparison
I'd go with the K612. The K702 is better in resolution but trimmed to be perfectly linear. Great plus for studio applications but very unnatural sounding. The K612 is IMHO a more comfortable and more natural/warm sounding headphone. They sit in the middle, between the K702 and the HD600. The one...- HiSenn5

I'm using an AVID C400 with a Lake People G-109 for music production. It's capable of running every headphone, even the HD800. http://violectric-usa.com/headphone-amplifiers/g109-p- HiSenn5
