Recabled hd 25-1 Vs Grado : what Grado headphones do the hd-25 approcah the most ?
I had a recabled HD25-1 with over 100 hours use mainly for DJ purposes and couldnt stand anything else than electric music on it. Especially Acoustic Guitars sounded very disturbing For casual listening i prefered my PX100 over them, surely less detailed and refined but for me an overall more...- herrbns

So is the Aria worth the 500$ it sells for now?
Preordered an Aria last year but had to cancel it for money reasons and going on holiday over xmas interfered too. Now it sells for 425 Euro to EU which is around 500 US$ and i cant get myself convinced that its worth the money anymore Also im pretty sure we will see many more nice DAC/AMP...- herrbns

A good word for the Cambridge Audio azur 540A integrated amp
I can also suggest the out of production Teac A-1D Stereo Amp for Headphone usage. I also have the Teac C-1D CD player, and changing from C1D headphone out to A1D headphone out the amp adds more slam and impact to the sound, very nice! Also this is a good beginners stereo combo playing at around...- herrbns

Which lossless format is best?
I personally rip the whole CD to one wav file using EAC and let it create a cue file with the song information, then convert the wav to ape. Playing the cue file works great in Foobar and even searching is just as fast as with single mp3 tracks (on my athlon 64 3000) The good thing with this...- herrbns

Cable soldering issues / HD-25 related
Hi everybody, today i got a shipment with the Senn 25's Velour Pads, the 3m OFC 6,4mm cable and a neutrik 3,5mm connector. My plan was to cut the 3m cable by 1m and solder the neutrik connector to it so i can use it as a portable phone more easily. I always had troubles with soldering but i...- herrbns

Senn's HD25-1 worth the upgrade from PX100?
Damn i just noticed for only 70 Euro more i can already get the Senn 650 That makes me kinda think about keeping the PX100 und getting the 650 for home use instead But then again i'd also need an amp, i guess the 650 wont make much sense from the ipods headphone out? Ok this gets offtopic now...- herrbns

Senn's HD25-1 worth the upgrade from PX100?
Hi HeadFi-ers, i currently have some money to spend and i'm wondering if i should get the HD25 for my Ipod Mini which i'm currently using a PX-100 with. What i'd like to improve is: soundstage (though least important), less grainy sound, better mid detail. Will the HD-25 deliver? Thanks...- herrbns

So do you like your 2nd-gen Ipod Mini soundquality?
Hi, i currently own a 4th Gen 20gb Ipod and think of downgrading to a mini for size reasons. What i dont want to downgrade is on soundquality I couldnt find many reports besides 1-2 threads here. Has anyone compared their Ipod Mini to other players? I'd like to hear some opinions. Thanks!- herrbns

CDP for 500-600$ or Denon 2910?
Hi, i'm currently looking for a better source for my Audio CDs, my current chain looks like this: EMU0404 -> Gilmore Lite -> Senns 650. I considered an Arcam or Cambridge CDP in the 500-600$ range but then i read many good comments about the Denon 2910. I could need a good DVD player anyway...- herrbns

What do you 325i owners think? I'm planning to get one of them to complement my Gilmore Lite & Senn 650 setup Money isnt an issue but saving 100$ to spend on other things is always nice too ofcourse- herrbns

Reexamining the necessity of amps.

How loud does your Ipod headphoneout get with Senn 580/600?
I can turn mine up completely and it's still OK, loud but not ears hurting. Half is not loud enough, maybe 3/4 gets used most. My SB Live headphone output is much louder. Just curious because i got an US ipod but using it on a German Setup, i wonder the Volume Limit got activated through...- herrbns
