Interesting that you like the sound of this and not the Bose 700. They must havd worked around the sound with software and design since the QCU use the same drivers as the 700, at least according to The Verge.

I had not really considered any HFM stuff, but I'm only familiar with their open-back planars (Last two versions of HE-400i). I actually keep Dynamat around the house. I loathe the new HFM headbands, and I have a large-ish head, which may be a problem for me. I'll take a look. Thanks.

With the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro on sale for $134 for the 80-Ohm/$169 for the 250-Ohm version, would I be a sucker for not checking those out? The DT 770 Pro Limited Edition are at $169 for all impedance versions, as well.
