How do the Audio-gd R2R modules compare to the ES9038 when talking about sound signature? I am not sure which I should go for, as I have found it difficult to find anything concrete about the differences. If anyone with experiences with both could chime in, I would appreciate it.

Mine on low-gain, single-ended levels out at 10+, with the right channel being stronger below. Same happens using XLR-out to my active speakers.

This DAC looks very interesting. I am wondering though how it would compare to something like the new NFB-7.77 with dual ES9038.

I can see that the BHA-1 has balanced outs at the back, are they for pre-out to an amp/active speakers? I am wondering about this since there is no switch at the front for HP/Pre.

  The part I don't get is why the HD6x0 should be better than the DT1770. It sounds like a downgrade to me, since they are not in the same price range (I know price isn't everyting).
