Snow Leopard and E-MU 0404 USB compatibility?

Quote: Glad you got it working :) - Amazing how in 3 years, Creative still can't make a working 64-bit version of the driver - it's not like this is a cheap item :/

Snow Leopard and E-MU 0404 USB compatibility?

Doesn't work unless you boot Snow Leopard in 32bit (which is the default, but still). If you wish to use Snow Leopard in 64bit (why wouldn't you?), the Emu 0404 USB will not work

    Shure SM58 + E-MU 0404 USB = Ultra quiet sound!

You'll just need the 0404 USB and an XLR cable.

    Shure SM58 + E-MU 0404 USB = Ultra quiet sound!

Problem resolved! -- sorry, forgot to reply. I put a piece of wire inside the microphone XLR connector to connect pin2 to pin3 together (I checked with a tester and noticed an XLR to 3.5mm adapter does this) and voila, perfect sound! http://hackeron.dyndns.org/sm58_0404_success.wav So...

    Shure SM58 + E-MU 0404 USB = Ultra quiet sound!

Hmm, I just connected an female XLR to 3.5mm -> female to female 3.5mm -> 3.5mm to XLR male and now the microphone volume is fantastic! Infact, I get clipping with anything over around +30db on the 0404 USB!!! I looked at the cable I was using (my XLR speaker cable) and it says 110ohm on...

    Shure SM58 + E-MU 0404 USB = Ultra quiet sound!

Just tried to record straight into the line-in of my macbook pro: http://hackeron.dyndns.org/sm58_laptop.mov SIGNIFICANTLY better than the 0404 USB - the reason there is less bass is I was much further away mic. Is the 0404 USB simply too weak for the SM58?

    Shure SM58 + E-MU 0404 USB = Ultra quiet sound!

Hey, I got my SM58 today, plugged it into my E-MU 0404 USB - set the microphone gain to +65db and shouting into the microphone barely registers in the -18dB LED. Covering the microphone with my hand and speaking loudly into into it makes it jump to -12 or even -6dB but the "SL" light comes...

    SM58 192khz recording - EMU 0404 USB or Audiophile 192 + Preamp?

Here is an example of a normalized recording speaking around 3cm away from the microphone: http://hackeron.dyndns.org/sm58_0404usb.wav Normalization pushed volume +30dB even though I have +65dB set on the 0404USB. What the hell!? Please help

    SM58 192khz recording - EMU 0404 USB or Audiophile 192 + Preamp?

I just got an SM58 -- plugged it into my 0404 USB and it's SUPER quiet. At full volume, I have to really shout into the mic to hear anything - shouting quite loud barely makes the -18dB light turn on with the volume set to +85db on the 0404. Any ideas what could be wrong?

HD600 from the iPhone and 0404 USB?

Hey, I just got my HD600 this morning -- I didn't A/B to my Shure E5 or HD595 yet, but overall impression is far more spacious than E5, but probably sound closer to the E5 than the HD595 overall. While I can't hear more detail in them yet (maybe I need to listen to more material), the detail...
