Running the Mercury v3 to the G2 via USB as opposed to the AES was a pretty significant difference for me. USB shrunk the stage and killed the dynamics. Tried coax as well and in the end the AES was the superior connection of the 2 units by a significant margin.

Not gonna lie. The feet on the G2 are terrible! They should have stuck with the OG feet. At the end of the day though if my only complaint is bad feet. I'm still batting 1000 lol

You can get volumio installed as your os on the mercury v3 upon purchase.. Then download the volumio app and login into tidal on the volumio app. It's really simple to do. The v3 walks you through the process. Volumio is a little wonky because we're used to simple Android and apple os systems...

Well if an MJ4 hits the market in the future I'm hoping it's a better MJ3 with a tube stage. Possibly 6sn7 or 12a*7 variant would be sweet. That would be the only amp that would have me part with the MJ3. Lol

So... I've been playing with the single ended/ push pull switch. I actually prefer the push/pull setting. For whatever reason it feels like there's more overhead in the volume. Sounds fuller/bigger in the lower to mid presence. Could it be the HD800S is just that hungry for voltage? This amp...

Yep. It happened to me twice when I first got it. Periodically I touch it and unplug sht to get it to do it again and it hasn't happened. 🤞🏻

I'm in the same conundrum brother. I really want the Lokius max but good lord it's the same price as the Gungnir 2. I look at it in the cart every day 😂
