    The discovery thread!

Agreed! 3DT definitely dispelled my preconceived notions of what a triple DD should sound like (ahem Trifecta) and despite not being my favourite was quite surprising in terms of it's staging!

Enjoy running through your library to see how Anni does things differently! It made me track down percussion heavy tracks just to listen to that treble!

I always refer to a certain IEM as Areola Trailer so you’re not too far off with poor substitutes

thou shalt be skeptical of impressions from deaf ears; thou shalt be skeptical of thine own ears and get audiologists to take a look; thou shalt not look at /r/headphones except for a laugh from time to time; thou shalt demo and blind buy only if intoxicated; thou shalt not justify IEM based on...

@boys the Anni’s bass is quite good but in comparison to IEMs such as XE6 or RN6 you definitely feel like there is some bass shortage. My nitpick with the bass is that it could be “tighter” and more “controlled”. When listened to as a whole picture (bass, mids and treble) the Anni is...

    Shanling M6 Ultra - 4x AKM AK4493S DAC, Snapdragon 665, Android 10 DAP

Line out is bypassing the amp stage of the M6. The DAC is converting to analogue and then handing off to your XD05 to amplify. USB would be digital signal transfer hand off to the XD05 to convert to analogue and then amplify. You could use your phone through usb and it would likely sound the...

Eletech Cables Official Impressions & Discussions Thread

Big shoutout to @Damz87 for setting up the Australian tour of the Eletech Virtues series of cables and many thanks to @Eric Chong for sending out some cables out to upside down land. I've reviewed Eletech Azrael, Cassiel and Raphael and thoroughly enjoyed Eletech's Versa system which is a...

Preamble As you move up a product line, there is an expectation that you are receiving tangible and easily ascertainable benefits for your dollars. A higher trim on a car yields heated seats and a bucket of safety features you never knew you needed. A higher specced laptop provides you with...

Review by 'grumpy213' on item 'Eletech Cassiel'

Preamble SPC is a bit of the red-headed stepchild of cable materials in my reading. People love pure copper, pure silver or some hodgepodge of metal to create some Frankenstein alloy. SPC is usually connected with cheaper cables you find on Amazon from no-name brands but this is changing...

Review by 'grumpy213' on item 'Eletech Azrael'

Preamble There are usually a few steps into the world of cable rolling. First, by circumstance or by curiosity, one would usually order a cheaper cable off the list of usual suspects being NiceHCK, XINHS or Tripowin. The next logical step would be a more established and well-known manufacturer...

It's unique geometry combined with a high purity conductor, enables the “Azrael” to offer deep and airy staging without losing...

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

Well, the main point of comparison I had with it was Multiverse Mentor which is a really rich, mid foward IEM. I feel that the mids gets lost in the sauce of the wonderfully forward treble and punchy bass.
