Yeah I also had the same setup on my ps3.  I would connect the mic to the usb soundcard and plug it into the ps3.  Then I would plug the headphones into my stereo that was used for my tv audio.

My setup Sansa Clip Zip -> Fiio e6 -> se215LTD    IMO it gets a little bit more out of my shures. Especially if you love bass and thought the 215 was lacking (I didn't but do enjoy the added bass). Im extremely happy with my purchase.
