@Whitigir @purk, Right now I'm feeding my Z7 through Schiit Stack and I'm looking for an upgrade. I'm not sure getting the SONY PHA3 with the balance cable is considered as an upgrade or not? I really need to find a place to audition the gear lol.

Whitigir thanks a lot for the input! I use my Z7 with Vali 2 which is a tube amp. So I'll keep that in mind when I use it in the future. I've been doing the wrong ritual for almost two months now, I'm lucky that my headphone is still fine

ok but just to make sure I need to plug in my headphone before I turn on my amp in the future to prevent damage right? What about the popping sound? Do I not need to worry about it?

@Whitigir ...Ohhhh noooo : ( I always plug in my headphone after I turned on my tube amp to prevent the initial pop..... does that mean my headphone is damaged?!?! Why does no one tell me that I should plug in my headphone before I turned on my amp :(!! 

I think the highs are just fine but I do think the bass is a bit bloated. I want a tighter, punchier bass.

I actually just got my Z7 last week and have been listening to it through the weekend. I saw a youtuber did a comparison between z7 and 1540 and he said the overall tonality of the two cans are very similar.
