Need Closed Back Recommendation for Someone Who's Only Ever Had Open Back Planar Magnetics

Take a look at jmaudioeditions. His closed phone are very good sounding to me. I have settled on Audeze Open planars, but the XTC would have had me if I had not had the open Audeze. I do believe you can have a pair for about $1k.

Any suggestions for a first-time headphone purchase?

It would be hard to go wrong starting with Sennheiser 5xx or 6xx series phones if you can afford them. I would keep in mind quality control on cheap (you get to decide on a number) phones is not great, so piece to piece variations can be an issue.

Woo Audio WA22 Amp Owner Unite

I know this an old thread. Bit I have a question about rectifier tubes. I see the 274b is recommended by Woo. There appear to be 4 pin and 5 pin versions of the 274b. Do both work? I have asked Woo support and did not get an answer other than buy your tubes from Woo Audio.

will a good sounding headphone still be good in 20-30 years?

Sounds right. Almost 10 years for the 800s.

will a good sounding headphone still be good in 20-30 years?

How long since the 800s came out? It's been close to 10 years now, I think. The 820 came out in 2018...

    Most comfortable closed back headphones

Of phones I've listened to, the Meze Lyric 2 is very comfortable. I found the Audeze LCD-XC too heavy.
