I just received my V6 plus booster w/crossfeed & blue LED today. My first impression before burn in.....there's a noticeable improvement in sound stage and more volume than my V5 with about 500 hours on it. I going to let it burn in for a few days and I will report back. Gary

I'm sorry I misunderstood your question. I have never used my line out or headphone out on my main system, so I can't compare it.

When using my SuperMini I only use the line out on my pcdp. The headphone out does not sound as clean and should only be used for your headphones. That's a problem with a lot of the newer model pcdp's they don't have a line out. That is another reason the older pcdp's are so popular, besides...

I have a SuperMini v5 which has the converter built into to the amp and using my ER4P's sound very good. There's lots of volume and I think if portability is what your looking for, it's the only way to go IMO.

Yes, the booster is optional. You can leave it off or snap it on. I use a velco strap to attach the booster to the amp.
