i20 interference noise (possibly ghosts)
I never heard of a headphone cable not being able to handle certain power outputs, but I just tried the mad dog with a v-moda cable and adapter, but no luck. That leaves defective unit or ghost as the currently possibilities.- Fringe

i20 interference noise (possibly ghosts)
I realize this may be a dumb question since it doesnt seem to bother my normal listening sessions, but its been bugging me recently so I thought I would ask. I'm looking for some advice on my pure i20 and a strange noise I have been hearing. The i20 is being used as a dock only feeding my DAC...- Fringe

New Hifiman Headphone HE-400 is out
I just received the HE-400 today and it seems to be DOA. The right driver must be defective since no sound comes out and something is rattling inside the right cup. Also it seems like the whole driver is not secured properly. If I pull on the pad the whole driver almost comes out of the cup. I...- Fringe

Favorite Film Scores
Here is the link for the Dark Knight Rises Soundtrack. I just finished listening to the whole thing and I'm even more excited for the movie now. It sounds like a mix of The Dark Knight and Inception. http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=34498 -
Q701 impressions thread
I don't wear my glasses when listening so it has to be the headphones creating the sound. It happens more when i move my head or jaw a little and not as much if I'm constantly moving around. Almost seems like the joint is getting stuck and then creaks when it readjusts to the new angle after...- Fringe

Q701 impressions thread
Does anyone else have a slight plastic "creaking" sound coming from the left side when moving your head around? It seems to be coming from the pivot joint when the ear cup is moved slightly. The noise is only noticeable when your wearing them and listening at low volumes or on quiet songs...- Fringe

College student confused about headphone choices
The 225i is a great headphone as well but not for everyone. Comfort wasn't the best and the giant cord can get in the way a little but If sound is your only concern it's a good contender for the genres you listed. It's also easy to drive so it will probably sound good right from your receiver.- Fringe

College student confused about headphone choices
You should look into the HD600. It's the best all around headphone I have used so far and should work great with a tube amp. You could look into building a bottlehead crack which is suppose to be a great with the HD600.- Fringe

owned HD650, DT880... something nice, but down a step?
You could also look into the grado line. I have the 225i and it's easy to drive and sounds awesome with most music. It's not for everyone but worth looking into with your budget.- Fringe

my little dot mk3....
Tube rolling gives you the ability to tweak the sound to match certain headphones or your specific taste. This thread has alot of good info on the different tubes and what they sound like. http://www.head-fi.org/t/563884/little-dot-tube-amps-vacuum-tube-rolling-guide- Fringe
