Mac OS Ventura doesn't like Headzone

A word of warning for users of a Beyerdynamic Headzone connected via Firewire to a Mac: Apparently the Headzone no longer works with a Mac running under Mac OS Ventura. Looks like Apple has killed its Core Audio support under Ventura. Still appears as a Firewire unit in the System Overview but...

You might want to try the 880 as an open alternative to the 770.

Bought a pair last week and they're absolutely stunning. Very neutral and accurate, yet warm and pleasant. Incredible bass for the size.

Wanna transform the audio capability of your sad & tired computer? If you've got $500, here's how!

Let me add the Neumann KH120. Got a pair last week and couldn't be happier. Very precise, neutral sound with a wonderfully detailed, deep soundstage. Analytic but never to the point of becoming unpleasant. Incredibly deep yet tightly controlled bass for the small size. Everybody ready to invest...

The headphone that's built like a Denon HP-500 and sounds like a Beyer DT880?

I'm still deeply unhappy with my Denon HP-500. Six months later, it still sounds like the audio equivalent of a cold draught. Worse, all my music sounds as if it had been recorded in a totally dry room with all microphones stuffed deep into the individual instruments. It's been gathering dust...

    Mac OSX: replacement for Radioshift

Sooner or later, Tunein will pull the plug on Rogue Amoeba's Radioshift software. A real pity but it doesn't look as if we'd be able to do anything about this.   Does anyone know of a replacement for Radioshift? I particulalrly like its many possibilities for programming recording events...

Headzone Pro quality as a DAC/headphone amp?

What's the general verdict, if any, on the quality of the Headzone Pro as an A/D-converter and Headphone amplifier, disregading its surround/HRTF features?   Ralf

    DT 880s 250 ohm ver

You've deffo got a point there. I've just had a really close look at mine and there is no indication of the impedance. Neither on the cans nor on the plug.   Then again, mine's the Pro HT version which is only available in 250 ohms.   Ralf

    Field Monitors for Videographers

Quote: ...which is why I use AKG K81DJ while I'm doing my recordings of industrial soundscapes. They sound pretty awful but they're so ridiculously overdone in the bass register that you'll clearly notice even the slightest hint of a wind problem way before it could cause any real trouble...
