Does anybody listen to music they don't understand?
I would say at least a third of my music isn't in English, and in a way I prefer it that way. If the end of Arcturus' song Kinetic was in Norwegian like some of their earlier stuff, I'd appreciate it as a neat piano outro with Garm's great singing. As is, "via wormholes.... wormholes...- fold4wrap5

Favorite Metal Drummer
Hellhammer. No contest--just listen to that instrumental part in the middle of Arcturus' Hibernation Sickness Complete, or that Mayhem album A Grand Declaration Of War in its entirety. Trym from Emperor is also pretty good. Few others can make 99% blastbeating not get old.- fold4wrap5

Darkest Desires Part V
I'm starting to really hate Candlelight. They've always kind of mastered things loudly, and lately even more so (like with Starkweather's Croatoan), but I bought the new Enslaved CD Ruun and it just sounds like complete ****. You can hear the static crackling on every track thanks to the blatant...- fold4wrap5

Remastered Black Metal
I've not liked any black metal remasters better, though in all but one there's not much of a difference. Comparisons: Arcturus' Aspera Hiems Symfonia: This is the only one where there is DEFINITELY a difference, the sound is very thick (too thick, I thought) compared to the very thin...- fold4wrap5

Need more prog metal & prog death metal
Emperor's Prometheus might be up your alley, they were straight up black metal until that but it's a prog-black/death album and I love it. The Tongue of Fire and The Prophet are particularly great songs, and only the first is a bit iffy. Ihsahn's scream isn't as convincing as it was on their...- fold4wrap5

Santana - All That I Am CD
Start --> Run --> regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SYSTEM --> CurrentControlSet --> Services --> Cdrom Double click the autorun entry, change its value from 1 to 0. Then just exit the registry editor and restart (not sure if you have to, but it's a good idea just in case). I love you too...- fold4wrap5

Your 5 newest CDs (or LPs)
Emperor - Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire and Demise Pretty good stuff, eight of the nine tracks have parts ranging from okay to very good with most things falling closer to very good. It's like prog black metal, and both Ihsahn's singing and shrieking sound great. The other track, The...- fold4wrap5

Looking for recommendations to expand my music collection
would like to stick to rock/prog rock/alt rock to start out. Give Pain of Salvation's The Perfect Element a shot if you can get over their name, they're prog-metal but not particularly intense or fast or screamy or anything so it shouldn't be too unapproachable. TPE has one or two weak...- fold4wrap5

The Gathering sample song for new album "Home"
It probably won't, most of their last few albums have changed things up quite a bit within their given style. Like Jelena and Monsters were really different, and Rollercoaster and Amity--they're pretty good at keeping things fresh.- fold4wrap5
