Yeah, I was ready to pull the trigger on the Hippocase but couldn't find a good seller in the US. :(   Any more suggestions?

Hard Headphone Case for Sennheiser HD?

Hi,   I recently bought some Sennheiser HD598s and I transport them from home to work and back every day. I keep them in my backpack so they are relatively safe, but I would like some peace of mind that a hard-case would bring me.   The Hippocase is perfect for my needs, but I've been...

    Budget DAC/Amp for HD598 ~$100 range?

Sure. Some tones have got a grungy edge to it, and in most music I hear a lot of graininess.   Quote:

    Budget DAC/Amp for HD598 ~$100 range?

Hi,   I'm usually a fan of speakers, but I'm away for the summer and have to have headphones at work. Thus, I bought the Sennheiser HD598s thinking that would suffice until I got back to my home setup. But I got a nasty surprise when they sounded really terrible!   I have good reason to...

    Good DAC/Amp for HD598, ~$100

What do you mean "measuring"?   Also, I never understood the E7/E9 combo. It seems like a lot of wasted money for paying for two amps and a DAC. Why not just get a $200 DAC/amp instead? Or are the E7 and E9 just that good?   Quote:

    Newbie Question: What is Amps?

Sound, such as a music file (mp3 or FLAC or other), is stored as digital information. Digital information, at its core, are nothing but electronic 1's and 0's. So basically your music file can be broken down into a huge series of 1's and 0's.   You need something to convert that digital...

    Good DAC/Amp for HD598, ~$100

I just got some Senn HD598s and am REALLY disappointed, coming from Swan D1080 speakers. However, I believe that it's because my work laptop's DAC is really terrible--there's no way it could be this bad if that wasn't the case. (Although we will find out after I get a decent DAC/amp)   I was...

    Looking for Open, Over-ear. <$150

I just went to Guitar Center to check out the sound signatures of each brand. I'm definitely steering clear from AKGs and am still liking Sennheisers. I also liked Audio Technicas. I'll do a bit more research but I'm leaning heavily to the HD555s.

    Looking for Open, Over-ear. <$150

I listen to music at fairly low volumes. It should be fine! I'll look into the AKGs.   Any other suggestions?

    Looking for Open, Over-ear. <$150

Hi,   I recently started working at an office so I need headphones that are extremely comfortable.   I'm not a fan of closed-ear because over time it seems to get a bit hot and moist (gross). The office is quiet, so sound isolation isn't really an issue anyway.   I have always been a...
