Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

MLE,   So, you're saying the DT990 has more treble and more bass than the DT880? Why wouldn't I go with that then. I believe if the mids are a little more repressed, then it would sound more like the Pro Coppers I have, and that's a good thing. I can always use a little more bass (DT770...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Mad Lust Envy (and whomever else that has extensive experience with the DT770 and DT880),   I own the Monster Turbine Pro Copper IEMs. I am a BIG fan of music. I use Logitech's 5300 5.1 computer speaker setup for my non-headphone gaming sessions, although a speaker upgrade is coming (another...

I find myself gaming now... want great music sound, but a good "headset" for speaking too. Very confused.

It's almost 2am, and I'm really tired. I'd like to write out an entire list of my dilemma, but nay, I cannot. So here is the short breakdown.   I upgraded my computer. It's amazing. And I'm now starting to get into gaming. This comes as I gave up about a year ago pursuing a really good pair...

Will be awhile until amping... 250ohm or 600ohm with the DT990? I only own a FiiO E5 right now...

Drubbing,   While I do appreciate the advice - and I totally understand your example - I would rather have a good base (no pun intended) to start out with, and add other things like sources and amps later that's all. Like I said, I will probably pick up a Asus soundcard soon and then...

Quote:   Cory,   Thank you for the backing... That's all I really want right now is more than decent. If they sound good, but not to their full potential fine - that's great. And if they sound better amped, then I'll amp them, but eventually.    I'm sold... I'm ordering them...

Alright, so here's where I'm coming from...   I own a pair of Monster's Turbine Pro Copper in-ear monitors and I am in absolute love with them. They were the first (and hopefully last - because I'm perfectly content with them) IEM I will buy. But, there are times when I don't want things...

I really want the DT990. REALLY bad now... But, I am also REALLY struggling about the decision to go with the 250ohm instead of the 600ohm. At this point, I just don't know if I can get away with spending $250 on an amp. I have a wife and a little girl - there exist other priorities than a $250...

Auditioned Beyer's 770 Pro today. Better than AT's AD700... what about the 880?

Mochan,   Quote: That is good to hear and confirms what I was thinking. I do not think the AD900 will provide enough slam and volume of bass. I really think the 880 semi-open design is the best route to go although, why does the 990 provide more bass when it is open back? This... I do...

Auditioned Beyer's 770 Pro today. Better than AT's AD700... what about the 880?

I know, I know... you're thinking, "They're totally different!"    Well, yes they are. And I liked the 770 a lot better because it actually had some bass. Now I did miss the airy, peppy soundstage of the AD700, so... here is my question:     As I'm sitting here typing, with the AD700...

    Audio Technica ATH-AD700 vs ATH-AD900

After reading all 10 pages this post has to offer, I'm still unsure of the "amount" of bass the AD900 offers compared to the AD700. I feel like ChiComm4 does I believe as I'm sitting here typing, with the AD700 sitting on my desk looking at me and I'm just shaking my head because their bass just...

Seriously... the AD700 are PURPLE!!! My AD700 review. Help me!

darkswordsman17,   Quote:   Quote:   Thank you for echoing my thoughts (to the T). For one, it's not that they were used that was the problem necessarily, they look great physically. But, when I buy "new" headphones at a $88 down from a $250 MSRP, I think I'm getting a deal -...

Seriously... the AD700 are PURPLE!!! My AD700 review. Help me!

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll look into the SRH-840 for sure. Also though, what about the A700 - the closed back. Do they have more bass than the AD700? I like the AD700 because of the soundstage which is important to me for the unique sound they offered. I will try and audition the M50...

Seriously... the AD700 are PURPLE!!! My AD700 review. Help me!

Part One...   Alright guys (and gals),    As I prepare to type this I'm really at a loss. First off, when my package arrived from Amazon today, I noticed after opening it that the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 box looked like it had been through a shipping war. Yet, the shipping box was...

Monster's warranty service is amazing... A+ customer service.

First off, no, I'm not affiliated with Monster in any way. I'm just an average Joe 25-year old who likes quality audio. After purchasing my Monster Turbine Pro Copper in-ear monitors back in the Spring, I was amazed by their sound, thus ending my IEM search. I was lucky that I hit my "best" per...

So here's my open/closed back strategy. Audio Technica fans listen up...

ZeNmAc,   Thanks for the input. I would like to clarify that I'm not solely sold on Audio Technica, but for the $88 I'm paying for the ATH-AD700 cans I really feel I'm getting a bargain. The only reason I would like to eventually get the M50 or the A900 cans is that because I'm not familiar...
