Massdrop x Noble X Universal IEMs Review / Preview
I'd need to double check but if the X7 can double as a DAC for your computer you might as well grab that. Reason being it's inconvenient having an amp hooked to a phone you're trying to type on (unless you have an old phone to use as the player). Then there's the matter of the flavor it adds but...- FenW

Introducing SERA by Vibro Labs
The 100 off was too good a deal and I'm just too curious because they do seem like The One I've been seeking... So I ordered a pair last minute :D Really looking forward to seeing it in person!- FenW

Introducing SERA by Vibro Labs
Thanks for the additional details! I'm sorta still chasing the sound I got from the Westone UMPRO50 paired with an AK Jr... And this sounds as close as I'll probably ever get. Definitely considering very much right now!- FenW

Introducing SERA by Vibro Labs
Would you mind describing the bass a bit more? I have no experience with Vibro products so I'm not quite sure how it's like. Would the subbass be more prominent? How about the midbass? How much does it bleed into the mids? You speak of a small soundstage, does this enable the subbass to...- FenW

Massdrop x Noble X Universal IEMs Review / Preview
We aren't guaranteed to get the X after this time whereas the Nighthawks aren't going out of production any time soon (are they?) Coupled with the portability of the X that enables use in every environment, well I know what I'm getting.- FenW

Could @FullCircle shed some light on the specs of the lightning cable? I've seen people asking whether there are inline DACs and whether there is a Type C option. I'm not familiar with this new stuff at all tbh.- FenW

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Understandable, perfection can't be rushed. I was wondering though, other than bass that will shake your bones, how do you imagine the mids and treble would perform? If you can't answer at the moment, that's fine too.- FenW

Maybe something from the Savage series? There's barely anything about them out there and I'm sure a lot of people are rather interested in them.- FenW

They actually relieve the pressure on your ear drums, said pressure being what causes people to turn up the volume due to the body's defense mechanism. In that sense you can listen louder while protecting your ears. Increasing isolation would actually cause more pressure typically due to...- FenW

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
I tried both and I actually found the Lyra II a tad too warm for my tastes. The Vegas tho oh man. Bass presence for typical rock/pop tracks are placed behind the vocals while still coming through in strength and rumble. I've never heard anything like that tbh. If I wasn't I wasn't looking for...- FenW

I've never owned a custom so I can't say but isn't the driver content the same? One could argue that not having to squash them in a smaller housing could help with the sound but you'd have to ask the engineers that. I always thought the advantage of customs were fit, isolation and cool...- FenW

I never tried tried the W50 but other than the lack of bass quantity and the vocals on some tracks going off center on my W40 I really like it. The UMPRO50 pretty much covers those faults and I was hoping to get something along those lines from EE- FenW

I was looking into getting the Cerebus but the demo unit I tried had such soft bass it was a bit of a let down. Then again I was comparing it to the UMPRO50 from Westone...- FenW
