Cleaning ZMF Cowhide Ear Pads
If you have some, sure, go ahead and use it. But I wouldn't spend too much money on cleaning/conditioning products, since you can buy a brand-new pair of replacement pads from ZMF for around $50.- fastfwd

Cleaning ZMF Cowhide Ear Pads
From https://www.zmfheadphones.com/zmf-guide, "How do I clean the earpads on my ZMF Headphones?": Do not use alcohol, water, or any kind of solvent that isn't intended for specifically cleaning leather. We prefer MoHawk leather cleaning products, but there are many leather cleaners widely...- fastfwd

Good 4.4mm Female to 3.5mm Male Adapter?
When I searched Amazon for just "4.4mm 3.5mm", this popped up at the top of the list, with a bunch more below it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0828KKVZ8 Note that the cheaper adapters like that one don't use the "official" NDICS Pentaconn jack, but they'll probably work fine. Unfortunately, the...- fastfwd

Why do DAC manufacturers use the wrong USB A connection? Oppo replacement needed
You can't screw it up -- the connector is physically symmetrical and the ports can figure out which way the plug is inserted. It's not so much that they finally got it right, but that the requirements changed. When USB was first developed 20+ years ago, the existing serial-communication...- fastfwd

Why do DAC manufacturers use the wrong USB A connection? Oppo replacement needed
Yeah, sorry. Yes. With luck, everyone will eventually converge on USB4, which uses only USB-C connectors and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3. USB-C ports can be configured as dual-role host/device -- similar to the old-style USB OTG -- so if future iPhones had those ports they could do what...- fastfwd

Why do DAC manufacturers use the wrong USB A connection? Oppo replacement needed
The short answer is that every DAC manufacturer who uses a male "A" or female "B" connector IS doing it right -- USB is a host/device protocol, and those are the correct connectors for the device side. In standard USB, devices can't connect directly to each other. The iPhone has a device-side...- fastfwd

Good 4.4mm Female to 3.5mm Male Adapter?
You need an adapter cable terminated with 4.4mm TRRRS female and 3.5mm TRS male. Equivalent names for the female side are "Pentaconn" or just "4.4mm". Equivalent names for the male side are "3.5mm single-ended" or "3.5mm SE", "3.5mm unbalanced", or just "3.5mm". You do not want "3.5mm TRRS" or...- fastfwd

Benchmark HPA4 Headphone / Line Amplifier Impressions
By far the largest measurable electrical difference between the cables is that the 4-conductor Benchmark cables have probably 1.5 to 2 times the capacitance per meter of the 2-conductor Audience interconnects. But I assume your cable lengths are very short -- you don't have 100-meter runs of...- fastfwd

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control
No, @NA Blur, that doesn't work for the Dragonfly. It will work fine for built-in audio, but it won't even adjust the DF's volume, let alone its balance.- fastfwd

How do I balance headphones when Windows 10 offers no left/right control
Some devices have it, some don't. Dragonfly Red/Black -- and maybe the other models -- don't. Seems as though AQ could expose the balance controls with a firmware update, but posts have been made here about the issue since at least 2016, so I'm not holding my breath.- fastfwd
