[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Maybe that's why some people report hearing differences while others don't. I don't know the exact manufacturing date of my headphones either but I bought I last week and it arrived yesterday. Someone who recently purchased the headphones should send in their measurements. Maybe there actually a...- farhangleo

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
It could be that there are differences in cables from different batches. I doubt that Philips would have such poor quality control though, or maybe I'm just lucky to have got one that is of a relatively low resistance. The only reason I posted this was to make people realize that there is a...- farhangleo

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Just received my X1s yesterday. The first thing I did was check the resistance of the stock cable. I have the V-Moda cable from my M100s to use as a reference. Rather than blindly follow what Tyll said, I decided to measure the cable resistance using my trusty DMM myself. Here's what I found: ...- farhangleo

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)
I apologize for quoting you consecutively. I just couldn't understand why someone would react so violently to another persons music preferences. Well anyway, lets just get past this and carry on with the thread. No hard feelings .- farhangleo

Neat rig you have there. I had a similar setup back in the day, except that I had a diy cmoy amp and a pair of Grado sr80s. Well I actually blew out one of the drivers as a result of a diy mishap. I've moved on since then.- farhangleo

You do realize that most good portable headphone amps are designed to drive orthodynamic and high impedance dynamic driver headphones. How many high impedance, closed back headphones or planar magnetic headphones do you know of? A couple from Fostex maybe? If portable rigs weren't intended to be...- farhangleo

I'm not saying that you can't hear the difference. I just think that it makes more sense to use a portable rig with open headphones in a quiet environment over using an expensive portable rig in a noisy environment.- farhangleo

Also, who on earth would listen to hi res audio on a commute. I mean have you ever used the bus or train? If you have then you know no matter how high end or isolating your gear is, It will still sound like rubbish. So keep your condescending thoughts to your self.- farhangleo

Well the reason behind portable rigs is having the freedom to carry your music with you, not only in different rooms of your own house but also in other quite locations like hotel rooms. You would look like a complete lunatic if you commuted with such gear. I wouldn't want to be tied down to one...- farhangleo

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread
Im from Australia with the N7105T. The DAC behaved the exact same way when I plugged it in the first time but started working once I turned USB charging off on the E07K. Not sure if its a rom thing or just the hardware of the phone.- farhangleo

FiiO E07K ANDES Review and Help Thread
For anyone confused about whether the E07K works with the S3 or the Note 2, I can confirm that it does. I just received my E07K and connected it to the note 2 using the otg cable. Out of the box, the DAC does not work, however, after turning off USB charging on the Fiio, it connected without any...- farhangleo
