I used a usb power tester to confirm its fast charging at 9v. Fast charging works as intended, it just doesn't show it on the lock screen.

I found that I still had a working BSdeck as well, so I checked in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Via folder and found the BSdeck files were still left in a sub-directory from a previous install, dated 11/13/2013 or such.  I think because of the date of the files it might have been a remnant of one...
