If you're actually using all the power the 789 can provide you'd be blowing out your ears in minutes

I was going to look towards the TH-X00 but the fact that Massdrop stopped carrying them was a bit worrying. Those Denons look pretty good, I'll have to see if there's somewhere local I can try them out

Looking for an upgrade from my DT770s. Preferably something open back; I really just want to upgrade to a more detailed/wider sounding set of headphones, although primarily listen to electronic music so keeping a good bass response is also necessary. I was pointed towards Audeze and could swing...

At least anecdotally, I've got my E10k at 0, windows at 100%, and Foobar turned relatively low (-20 dB) and it's more then loud enough.
