Hd800 or T1
I second Pirastro's words. These are also my experiences with HD800 and T1. To complete what was said i want to add that although the T1's soundstage is not as wide as the one of HD800, it is incredibly deep. More so than on any other headphone i've heard.- dunhill

New Beyerdynamic amp A2
I can also recommend the A1 amplifier, which is the predecessor of the A2. It has an identical circuit design, as beyerdynamic officially stated. I made some tests if i should upgrade, but could not detect any differences in sound. The A1 is still available as remainder of stock for good price.- dunhill

I guess I need help with my Beyer T1's
Some of the best amps for T1 are SPL's Auditor respectively Phonitor. I've auditioned quite a lot combinations so far, but this one has ultimate synergy. The Auditor/Phonitor drive the T1 effortless, with absolute control. They are designed to drive high impendance phones. Their max. power...- dunhill

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
hi, i'm running the T1 with a Phonitor, which is soundwise the same as Auditor. It's a match made in heaven. I've tried some amps with the T1, eg.: Lehmann Black Cube Linear, Violectric and some tube amps. But from all of them, the Phonitor had the most synergy, a perfect match. As far as i...- dunhill

Loudspeakers or Headphones ?!
Go to a store and try beyerdynamic's T1. After that listen to some speakers. You will see you need about $10.000 to match the sound quality of the beyer. If you are on a budget and if you can cotton up listening with cans it's always a better bang for the buck.- dunhill

REVIEW: SPL Phonitor
Quote: Well, i think there's power enough @ 25Ω. Fed from a Hifi source with app. 2,2 volts output gain i can turn up the volume up to half of the control range. More than that you will turn deaf pretty soon. And there's no buzzing or distortion, at least with the Denon, just...- dunhill

REVIEW: SPL Phonitor
Quote: I'm running a D-7000 (which has 25 Ω) on the Phonitor and IMHO it's a match made in heaven. Power, control, grainlessness, realistic harmonious soundstage, perfect frequency response; it's all there!- dunhill
