Here's a suggestion... Some of the music from the TV show 'Departures' is pretty neat. The album's a mixed bag of genres, but there are a few downtempo tracks that have a good sound to them. -

Do you go beyond the mainstream?
I basically go by the rule that if I like how it sounds, I'll listen to it, mainstream or not. So I do have some songs and bands that would be considered 'mainstream', though not too many. I loathe the radio and have my iPod and PortaPros at the ready if the need ever arises. So in that way...
