FiiO X5 2nd gen Impressions and Discussion thread
One other thing with the wheel. Sometimes it requires 2 movements to move forward to the next selection rather than one. Is that normal?- DubPete

This description matches mine. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to find any headphones that are compatible with its inline remote support. The back button on the face of the unit actually sticks out just a little toward the bottom, but it is not level. The button in the bottom...- DubPete

My back button is flush with the case and the center button wobbles around a bit. Does that mean its a pre-production model?- DubPete

FiiO X5 2nd gen Impressions and Discussion thread
Are there any sample music files freely downloadable that will really show off the X5ii? Or failing that, any online that would be good to purchase? I've started ripping my own CDs but it would be interesting to compare what I have to what people consider an example of the best. (BTW: where...- DubPete

This actually happened while the player was idle. I pressed to power button to shut it off and that happened.- DubPete

Did my X5ii just crash??!? It suddenly switch to a blue screen with a list of what looks like registers. And I can't power it off now. I done't have permissions to post pictures directly, but here's a link to some phots: http://i.imgur.com/75t4Cdh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UsAal4x.jpg- DubPete

Just looking to use the button to pause and skip songs. But I did have success with the update! Turns out I was using the X5 firmware file, not the X5ii, doh! After the update, still no support for headphone controls. I'll try to find someone with genuine Apple headphones with buttons...- DubPete

Interesting tip, thanks. Maybe things got messed up when I simply copyied all my music straight to the card. So I just tried with a new, freshly reformatted card, but still have the same error. Does the FiiO have the concept of factory recovery? I tried the reset to defaults but maybe that just...- DubPete

Hi all, Should the new X5 support non-Apple in-line earphone buttons? I've tried a few that I use ok with Apple devices, but none work with the FiiO. I'm not sure if there is a very specific requirement for compatibility. (This is my first FiiO so I'm still learning.) I've tried: ...- DubPete

FiiO X5 firmware 2.50 download and discussion
Thanks, I had better ask in the appropriate place. (To be clear, I have an X5 that's a gen 2... which I assume is the same as X5ii?) -
FiiO X5 firmware 2.50 download and discussion
I just got an X5 and I have been going a bit crazy trying to find how to jump to the equalizer while a song is playing. Are you saying it's impossible? I've also been wondering if a firmware update will enable better support of button controls earphones. I am yet to find one that works at all. -
New Member Introductions thread
Hi all, New FiiO X5 2nd gen owner here. Like many here (probably) I have various other bits and pieces... misc earphones (best: FIDUE A73, then random MEE Electronics earphones and tangles of Apple earphones), a couple of headphones, an old iPod that has seen lots of use, etc. No...- DubPete
