This actually happened while the player was idle. I pressed to power button to shut it off and that happened.

Just looking to use the button to pause and skip songs.    But I did have success with the update! Turns out I was using the X5 firmware file, not the X5ii, doh!   After the update, still no support for headphone controls. I'll try to find someone with genuine Apple headphones with buttons...

I just got an X5 and I have been going a bit crazy trying to find how to jump to the equalizer while a song is playing. Are you saying it's impossible? I've also been wondering if a firmware update will enable better support of button controls earphones. I am yet to find one that works at all.
