I had asked this question earlier - see quoted. I also use my portable amp through other items without dedicated line-out, and it seems fine. Can't imagine there would be a significantly material difference with the R3.

Amen to this. I remember when I was first got "serious" about portable audio, it was like Alessandro MS-1, Audio Technica AD700, ER4's and HD600. ER4 and HD600 were always in the stratosphere for me (say $400 - $500 AUD). Now there's relatively new companies demanding $3k+ for IEMs? Just like...
