Have you tried the Katanas, Encores, and the Khan yet? In the end i settled myself a Khan because it's bass can be punchy (for metal) and it can be visceral (for edm) if given the right pairings, i wouldn't say its bass heavy as compared to the ier z1r but it's layering and texture is really out...

Maybe you could give Noble Audio Khan a try as well. The tonality on their flagships are just :astonished: These are really a joy to listen not just metal but any genres in my humble opinion. Sorry i'm just lurking in this thread and i don't even own a 1A/Z but one day i will.
