Monoprice isn't available in my country. I live in India and the ones I mentioned in the post are the ONLY ones available at that price.    For a lot more money I can get Audioengine (300$ converted from rupees) and after that I'm looking at extremely expensive A5+, Yamahas, or Adams, or...

do that, but just a little advice do invest in a reasonably priced portable amp as well, it does make a difference, at least it does to my ear. I use a fiio e6. Also let these burn in for 20 or more hours as the treble is a bit harsh straight out of the box.

yeah these definitely aren't portable. But they are very comfy. I wear them for hours at a stretch, the only minor flaw as far as the comfort goes is that the earpads are synthetic so it can get quite sweaty after sometime. However I'd you can get the velour pads that are made for the akg 440...

  No :( would have loved to get those after going through all the reviews unfortunately they are double the price of all the ones i've mentioned. Perhaps because creative has stopped selling them retail in the country the one or two websites that offer them have priced them very steeply...

UPDATE: I can get the Samson SR850 for half the price of any of the previously mentioned headphones. Should I take the plunge?
