I also have hd555 and I would like to know if it is possible change the connector to a balanced output. there are 4 cable: red = right? left? + or -? blue = right? left? + or -? white = right? left? + or -? black = right? left? + or -? anyone have tried to mod the hd55 to balanced?

found it "Line out" activated in the main page - but I also changed in the menu "line mode out" from "fixed" to variable" now the volume is perfect :-))

yes, but if I activate the line out ... the volume wheel is not works because everything is at maximum I would like to have the maximum power of line-out but usable with the volume wheel

yes it's already on high gain ... I think that there is a sort of limitation in the EU version. My sansa clip with rockbox sound much higher ...
