Sound Card & Headphone Setup Help
Thanks Mal, Perhaps it is my sound card, but clicking Dolby Headphone (or any other Dolby setting) does not seem to do anything when I have my headphones plugged into the analog output. I typically test by playing something in the background and listening for the changes in the output. The...- Cuitarded

Sound Card & Headphone Setup Help
Hi all, I was hoping someone could lend some advice on my sound card / headphone setup on my PC. I bought in to the whole "gaming headphone" hype and bought a pair of Turtle Beach PX5s, along with an Asus Xonar DX. Not only were the PX5s a bear to use, they sounded like crap and I kept...- Cuitarded

TC Helicon VoiceLive
Has anyone used this vocal effect equipment? I am considering purchasing the VoiceLive, it can be found for around $350 USD on eBay and other sites. Can anyone compare this to the newer VoiceLive 2? What are the main differences (I assume the 2 comes with more bells and whistles). There...- Cuitarded

Output Impedance to IEM
How close do the output impedance of the source or amp have to match that of the rated impedance on the IEM? ie. Output Impedance of 32 Ohms (100mW) to a IEM rated at 27 Ohms (such as an ER4P) Is that a problem or are they close enough? Or does it only apply if your output impedance is...- Cuitarded

So I got a free pair of ER4Ps...
Thanks for the replies. What would be the difference between something like the ER4s and the Uber high end UE Pro series IEMs (there us a $1200 USD one...). I have used tri flange before and found foamies more comfortable plus they have increased isolation. Are foamies generally not suited...- Cuitarded

So I got a free pair of ER4Ps...
I recently joined up with a band as a singer. My dad knows some folks at Etymotic and was able to pull some strings to get me a pair of ER4s to use. I already own a pair of 6is that I used with my MP3 player, but never have used the ER4s or IEMs in any setting such as playing in a band...- Cuitarded

iRiver iHP 120 replacement suggestions?
When I plug in my IEMs, I use the Line Out/Optical jack. Is there a difference between using line out vs headphone-out for my IEMs? I haven't been able to notice a difference.- Cuitarded

iRiver iHP 120 replacement suggestions?
Would I be better off grabbing a new hard drive though, than dishing out $150 for a new 100 series? Does anyone have any opinions of another (newer) DAP over the 100 series?- Cuitarded

iRiver iHP 120 replacement suggestions?
I don't really use the optical out (I use IEMs, haven't heard of any headphones or IEMs that uses optical..?). I was thinking of getting another HP1XX but I thought they were discontinued? Additionally I really could care less about picture / movie playback... I might be better off buying...- Cuitarded

iRiver iHP 120 replacement suggestions?
So my iHP-120s hard drive but bit the dust. Rather than replace the HD, I am looking around at some of the newer DAPs around... I have been extremely happy with my iHP 120, and I have not seen anything that really compares. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement? I have heard someone say...- Cuitarded
