    [FIIO BR13] Hi-Res Bluetooth Receiver-fiber-optic/coaxial BYPASS function,connect two transmitters,global upsampling up to 96K 24BIT,7 EQ + 2 custom PEQ,7 Bluetooth codecs including LDAC

I got one of these, but it had to be sent back as the retailer sent me one that was ‘previously cherished‘ instead of brand new. However, I did give it a try and was very impressed with the sound quality when connected to an old hi fi system. After sending it back, I wanted to buy it again, but...

    Amazon ‘New’.

The order was fulfilled by Amazon, so it came directly from their warehouse, so I would assume that the previous owner also bought it from there, and returned it there. The vendor’s own website offers the same product either brand new, or ‘open box’ at a discounted price.

    Audio Grade Fuses

With regards to the ‘bottleneck’ theory, I can see how a difference in a fuse’s rating, or construction could make a small difference to the resistance of the fuse, and bring about a tiny voltage drop across the fuse, or cause some anomaly with the current flow. If this is enough to bring about...

Is there a 3.5mm to 4.4mm balanced adapter cable and is it worth it?

This doesn’t convert single ended headphones into balanced headphones though…

    Amazon ‘New’.

Yesterday I ordered a Fiio BR13 (Blutooth receiver) from Amazon. It was a new item, sold by a reputable 3rd party, and fulfilled by Amazon. It arrived today, and the first thing I noticed was that the product box didn’t come wrapped in polythene. Ok, so maybe this has a sticker over the flap...

    Recommend me some budget IEMs

I’m not sure you could do much better than the SoundMagic E10 at around that price. For a bit more money you could get the E11, which is a nice little upgrade from the E10. I’ve tried a few IEMs around this price point over the years, and the SoundMagic ones seem to last longer than all the...

Bluetooth ear buds - recent convert - and lost

Yes, that’s true. My Salnotes Zero came with a detachable cable, but it failed after about 8 months. I could have bought a replacement cable, but considering the low cost of the Salnotes, I would have been better off just buying them again. I never actually liked the Salnotes Zero, and the...

Bluetooth ear buds - recent convert - and lost

I’ve always favoured wired headphones and IEMs, but just yesterday I decided to try wireless IEMs. I got some Soundcore A20i, very inexpensive, but I chose them just as a ‘proof of concept’. Just to see if I can live with wireless for the train to work and watching movies in bed. Despite being...

Unexpected expansion of earbud sound stage

When listening to IEMs, the seal in the ear canal from the tips acts as a barrier, keeping the music in and the ambient sound out. Generally speaking, indoors is quieter than outdoors, so when you go outdoors, the ambient noise slightly breaks down the acoustic barrier created by the tips. The...

Headset for Playstation 5 around 100€

The only gaming headset I’ve ever used is the Logitech G535 which came in a bundle with my PS5. It’s about $100. It’s lightweight and I find it very comfortable for extended gaming sessions. There may well be better headsets (sound quality or otherwise) at this price point, but these have been...

    Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

Thanks very much for the reply. I believe the HD660S2 come with a 4.4mm balanced cable, so I’d be good to go. I know the BTR7 might not be perfect for these headphones, but the idea would be to get a desktop device at some point.

    Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

These have been varying in price a lot on Amazon, In the last couple of weeks they’ve been as high as £499, but today they are £379, which is as low as I’ve seen them.

    Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

I’ve been watching these on Amazon (UK) recently, and they/were £489 just the other day, but now they are £399. I’m getting tempted, would I be able to drive them OK with a Fiio BTR7?

[FiiO BTR17/BTR7] True Lossless Bluetooth, Portable Bluetooth DAC and Headphone Amplifier BTR17 Is Officially Released!

I think if you switch battery protection on, it only takes effect on the next reboot. However, even then I don’t think it’s completely reliable.
