    JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

    2nd hand should be no problem. As long as they haven't been abused ie. Used as exercise headphones or gone in the washer etc. My pair of FX1200 is still my favourite IEM and works well to date. The only annoyance was that a fray had developed on the original braided cable sheath and I have since...

    Can't really help you out there as I'm simply not familiar with the headphones you've mentioned. Though I've tested the Sennheiser IE80 a few years back and all I can say is that I don't even remember what it sounds like. Yeah the Sony XBA series does have impressive bass, I would say that it...

    JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

    If you're looking for V-shaped but treble boosts bias, you might give the JVC HA-FR65S a go. Not sure if they are still in production though. That said, they're not really in the same league as the FX1200 in terms of sound quality. Also the fit might be uncomfortable for some.   Alternatively...

        All that and that the FW01 definitely need a powerful source to sound near it's price range.

    They'd be pretty hard to fake since wood(birch) housing that thin is not easy to make cheaply to bother faking and unless you got them off some shady merchant, chances of them being fake are slim. That said, I wouldn't take that as a guarantee since the kind of things people fake.... *ahem*...

    Hm, odd. I personally find the FX1100 a significant improvement to all the other members of the FX families. Especially with the timbre.

    JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

    Got a chance to try out the new FW01 and from the experience of an FX1200 owner, I find the FX1200 to be the easier to drive phone while the FW01 definitely needs something better than a standard android phone output to shine. The Trebles are just a touch brighter in the FW01 and you get more...

    My ears hate spinfit. They always end up pointing the wrong direction.

    Based on pricing it would be the FW-01. Haven't got a chance to hear it though. They have also supposedly discontinued the FX-1100.

    JVC HA-FX1200 vs JVC HA-FW01

    Hi there, you could probably find more about the FX-1200/(1100) over at this thread here as well as some comparison with the FW01. The FW01 are pretty damn new, just released by JVC this November which is probably why not much has been heard of them yet.

    DX200=Affordable High End Audio. Dual ES9028Pro dacs. AMP1, AMP3, AMP5, AMP7 & AMP8 ***Firmware support now up for AMP9***

    So long as there are people willing to throw large sum of money away for a quick retail therapy fix, there'll always be products with ridiculous pricing whether or not they deserve it.

    The standard cables are similar enough in spec and quality there really shouldn't be much difference - Both uses MMCX connection. Aesthetic wise there's some minor differences ie. straight vs 90°   I've tested my FX1200 against a few aftermarket "premium" cables and didn't hear anything...

    The over ear wood series sounds significantly different to the IEM signatures.

    JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

    The FW01 does have fewer parts compared to the FX-1100/1200, mostly due to the difference in damping system employed based on the exploded view of the components. That said, I'm not a fan of the shiny plastic front or the JVC embossed back plate on the FW01. Makes it feel tacky.   I'm also too...
