Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Random question for those with more experience than me. My Asgard 3 has developed the very annoying habit of crackling and making static noises only in the right channel whenever I turn the volume pot between 9 and 12 o'clock (which is my most used part of the pot). It's gotten worse over time...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Make sure you speaker wires aren't running parallel and in close proximity to power lines? My Gjallarhorn setup is completely silent off my Asgard, a dramatic improvement from my old powered monitors.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I'm very excited to say that I just received new-to-me KEF Q150 speakers and a new Gjallarhorn! I'm using them near-field on my desk fed with a Bifrost 2 and Asgard 3. I'm coming from a pair of KRK Rocket 5 powered monitors and these KEFs are much more resolving by far. I'm quite impressed (as...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

After a number of years of staring at my Asgard's volume knob wishing it had a more obvious indicator on it, I finally got around to doing something about it! I could have just added a larger indicator to the standard aluminum knob, but I decided to do it properly and turn an entire new knob...

Do you mind sharing some links to the connectors that you prefer? I've been having trouble finding quality USB connectors.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Mine doesn’t immediately switch but does at some point longer after disconnecting. I have my computer and audio stuff plugged into a power monitor (for no real reason at this point) which only has volatile memory so it resets if the power goes out. It says I haven’t lost power in a couple...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I get that, but it makes for an inconsistent experience for some people. My issue is less skipping the input when it isn’t connected and you’re running through the options, but more that it’s auto switching at some point one it’s own, but quite inconsistently. Some days it doesn’t switch, some...

Well that’s obnoxious. And it doesn’t skip the other invalid sources when they’re not connected, apparently only USB. I don’t see this as a useful or productive feature in any way. Let me select the input I want and not the one you think I want.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Maybe I didn't present my problem clearly. I have a MacBook Pro as my only computer, connected to a USB hub with a Bifrost 2 on my desk at home. Every morning I unplug the laptop and go to work. When I get home, the Bifrost has often switched inputs to optical or coax (which are not plugged in)...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Speaking of the Bifrost 2, I have a question about how the input selection works. I only have USB hooked up to mine. No other inputs are connected. About half the time I plug my computer (laptop that goes to work with me every day) into the Bifrost's USB (it never gets turned off), the USB input...

    1. Really? Did you even look in the OP? There is a hyperlinked list of ever chapter he's ever written, organized chronologically. 2. Yes, as the product description and FAQ on Schiit's web site clearly explain. 3. I can't comment on this.

To be fair, silver only conducts ~7% better than copper, a difference easily overcome by a slightly larger diameter wire (~3.4% larger). A set of good connectors/terminals would be far more useful, ideally brass or similar to avoid corrosion.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Hi Jason, Speaking of sales volumes, can you shed any light on how the black versus silver color options sell on products where both are offered? I've long been curious if it's been a vocal minority clamoring for black or if it really does sell as well or better than the silver. (The most...
