Budget Planar for use with Graham Slee Solo UL
Someone has suggested the HiFiMan Sundara rather than the HE560. I guess I need to try and audition these, but that will be difficult. Big choice now is between the Meze CLassic 99 and HiFiMan Sundara, based on reviews etc. Not easy.- CageyH

Budget Planar for use with Graham Slee Solo UL
I currently have a Graham Slee Solo UL, HD540 Référence II and HD650. I was thinking about getting some Meze 99 classics to have something a bit different from the clean, analytical sound of the 540, and the slightly coloured bass of the 650. Then I saw that Planar headphones were available for...- CageyH

New cd player, or upgrade existing with external DAC?
Budget is around £1k max. I have two cd players, an Arcam alpha 7se and a pioneer PDS-703. This is going to be paired with a Graham Slee Ultra Linear headphone amp and HD650 headphones. The Arcam is rigged up to my main system, and the pioneer is gathering dust. I am tempted by an Audiolab...- CageyH

Best headphones for £250
Well, I have pulled the trigger on what will probably be the start of a slippery slope..... I have gone for the HD650 with a Graham Slee Ultra Linear Solo as they seemed to work very well together to my ears. Impressive detail that I had not heard before was evident. Now I just need to complete...- CageyH

Best headphones for £250
Quote: Shure E2C, and Klipsch Custom 2. The opinions below are based on using my iPhone, without an amp, as that is how I use them when travelling. The Shure are the ones I use more, as they just seem more controlled, if a little bass light. This is with a good seal, but this could be...- CageyH

Best headphones for £250
Yes, it's a random list of headphones, but if you talk to two different people you are likely to get. Two different answers. I am wondering if there are better headphones for less money that I have missed out. I don't know which sound signature I am after from a headphone, and my ears will be...- CageyH

Best headphones for £250
Guys, I need some help creating a shortlist of headphones to audition for when I am back in the UK. Budget for the cans is around £250. So far, I was thinking of: B&W P5 Senn HD650 Grado SR225i AKG K701/2 Any others to consider? Will be listening mostly to Rock...- CageyH

:( Bu**er! Just broke my Custom 2's
Having just broken my Custom 2's (Having trodden on them ) is it a good time to upgrade to the Custom 3's or better? I quite liked the sound of the 2's after burn in, and they seem much better than the Shure E2C's they replaced.- CageyH

IEM's for under helmet use
Thanks for the reply. Actually getting to try quality IEMs is difficult, as I am based in South West France. I am yet to find a ood shop where I can go and look at them, so rely on internet purchases. Is the SE530 smaller than an E2C? It is hard to tell the size of the UM2 from the picturs...- CageyH

IEM's for under helmet use
I have read the archives, and realise this is an emotive subject. However, I have not found an answer yet to the problem. Just to make this clear, I have the Autocom speaker set-up in my helmet (driver) and I want some IEM's for my passenger. She is not happy with the Autocom Speakers. She...- CageyH

IEM "Headset" with boom mic?
I was thinking I could use some Klipsch Custom 2's, and attach the Autocom boom mic to the memory wire. Is there anything similar I couldlook at as well? These IEM's will only be used in the car, so I don't mind a bit of DIY.- CageyH

IEM "Headset" with boom mic?
I have been using my E2C's for a number of years with no problems. I have friends who use the ear protector versions with no problems either. I just don't want big yellow cans!- CageyH
