I've looked for threads with no luck, and looked at several different portable amp designs, and just wanted some feedback:   Most amps with two different 3.5mm jacks on one face seem to have the input channel in the centermost position, with the headphone out off to the left or right side...

Any updates on this, Ptruslow? I just purchased these, but generally like bigger, more padded earpads on my phones, so I'm sure I'll want to mod. How did yours turn out?

Consensus seems to be the Lisa, Pico, iQubes, or possibly the Predator. The desktop is really large to be called "portable", but I suppose it technically is. If sound is the only concern, I'd have to say the desktop or Lisa is the best bet, with the Lisa being the one I've heard the best...

I doubt it. I don't think windows mobile supports the advanced audio settings that usually need to be accessed to set the USB device as your default audio device. From a hardware perspective, it's no doubt possible, but it would require a hacked OS, I'm sure.

Anyone know of any portable CD players with toslink/coax (though I'm sure coax is either rare or non-existent in portables) outs? I've had a hell of a time tracking any info down, and I know there were multiple models like this out only a few years ago. If the digital out is tough to come...

Is it possible to upgrade the DAC in something like this? There must be a reason that not everyone is using the 24/96 DACs in portable amps, but thought I'd ask.

I just bought one to pair with my HD-650's, and I'll let you know my impressions. It's a fairly new product (beginning of January), so it's not surprising that there's not much feedback out there.

Kid A is one of my favorite "test" albums ever. I just love all the nuances that good equipment bring out in it.
